The UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition is proud to announce the formal recognition of the initiative 'Integrated Areas of Landscape Management in Mação (AIGP)’ as an outstanding example of humanities-anchored, transdisciplinary sustainability science.
Throughout March 2026, the BRIDGES Coalition and its international partners conducted a series of pivotal public consultations and engagements across Azerbaijan, France, Iceland, Morocco, and Portugal. These dialogues sought to bridge the persistent gaps between high-level policy formulation and the diverse knowledge systems that remain outside the scientific mainstream.
'The Futures of Royal Animals in Cameroon’s Grassfields: From Literary Imagination to Participatory Foresight.' Published in ‘World Futures Review’ Kenneth Toah Nsah’s research explores the intersection of literary analysis and participatory foresight to address the survival of ‘royal’ and ‘sacred’ animals in the Cameroon Grassfields. Focusing on species of deep cultural significance, such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and the Bannerman’s Turaco, the study examines their vulnerability amidst the global biodiversity crisis.

In the Amazon, the traditional recipes of the Ticuna communities (one of the indigenous ethnic groups), are a precious heritage passed down and continually refined through generations, carrying deep historical, cultural, and ecological wisdom. However, traditional cooking methods have gradually disappeared, especially among the younger generation. To protect this invaluable knowledge, the women of one Ticuna community have spontaneously formed an innovative group called “Sabores y Sabores Ticuna,” dedicated to reviving traditional recipes. They pass down the traditions, incorporate new ideas, sparking the younger generation’s interest in Ticuna culture and the natural environment.
