The 50 Percent has just launched the ‘Young person’s guide to storytelling’! The Young person’s guide to storytelling is a practical and reflective resource that brings forward the core learnings from The 50 Percent’s storytelling fellowship — a programme that, for more than five years, has supported young people in exploring how narrative shapes identity, conflict and change.
‘Building BRIDGES to a Biophilic Future: Reimagining Progress in Relationship with our Planet’ by Prof. Luci Attala, argues that the concept of "progress" must be urgently redefined beyond its current narrow focus on economic growth and technological innovation. In an era of poly-crises and inequality, a "biophilic" (life-loving) approach is needed, integrating wisdom from the humanities and Indigenous ontologies to ground progress in dignity and justice for people and planet. This thought piece advocates for a biophilic economy as a "grounded" alternative that supports nature, viewing ecosystems not as resources to be exploited but as partners in creating long-term value. This article argues that sustainability governance in small-scale regenerative aquaculture arises less from formal regulation than from the relational, ethical, and temporal labour of practitioners. Based on an ethnographic study of Câr-y-Môr, Wales’s first community-owned regenerative ocean farm, the research combines over 250 h of participant observation, 25 interviews, and document analysis with transdisciplinary humanities-informed sustainability science (THiSS).
