New MESH Youtube Channel

New MESH Youtube Channel

MESH is excited to announce the launch of their very own Youtube channel! It will feature recorded lectures held at their symposia or as part of their Research Fruits lecture series.

You can watch the first video, the opening keynote of the 2023 MESH Symposium “Decolonial Cultural Ecologies”, by Prof. Dr. James Ogude from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Director of the BRIDGES Southern African Hub, already!

In his lecture on “‘Banished Knowledges’, Ecophilosophy and Decolonial Ecologies in Africa”, he argues that the so-called ‘banished knowledges’ of African ecophilosophy, closely associated with indigenous ecological knowledges, practices and value systems embedded in the everyday practices of some communities in Africa, may well offer important insights into the current deepening environmental crisis.

Check out the first video here and don't forget to follow their channel so you don't miss any upcoming lectures!
