Running from September 29 to October 2, UNESCO MOST Social Transformations Week will examine how integrating transdisciplinary approaches and a wider range of evidence can foster resilient, long-term solutions.

About the MOST Programme

As UNESCO's Intergovernmental Scientific Programme for the social and human sciences, now anchored within the consolidated Sciences Sector, the Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme connects the natural, social, and human sciences throughout every stage of policymaking. By bringing together governments, researchers, civil society, and local knowledge holders, MOST works to expand the evidence base underpinning public policy.

Objectives of Social Transformations Week

The initiative utilises UNESCO’s strengths as an idea incubator, global convener, and capacity builder to:

Deconstruct the key drivers of inclusive societal progress.
Engage Member States in strategic, high-level discussions.
Equip policymakers through practical workshops designed to translate academic research into actionable policy.

Event Schedule

Tuesday, September 29 — MOST Forum: The week opens with the official launch of the GAP Coalition, the BRIDGES Manifesto and Policy Framework.
Wednesday, September 30 — UNESCO-BRIDGES Coalition Workshops: Interactive sessions focused on co-creating the BRIDGES Policy Toolkit.
Thursday, October 1 — MOST IGC Meeting: A dedicated session for the MOST Intergovernmental Council.
Friday, October 2 — Focus on Africa Day: The final day highlights discussions and policy strategies specifically tailored to the African continent.
